Under (re)Construction

by Stefani on 27-September-2007

Okay, bear with me. I’ve just increased the margins in the middle column so that I can link photos directly to Flickr without the edges getting chopped.

The nasty side effect is that a lot of the older posts are completely jacked up now. I’m going to try to go back and fix them a little later, but in the meantime, pardon my mess!

Is there an explanation somewhere on how to link directly to flickr? I’ve been wondering about this…

how do you widen your margins? it’s been driving me crazy having to manually change my flickr pictures so they’ll fit.

From a photo in your Flickr stream, look at the little icons just above the photo (add a note, blog this, etc.). One of them is “all sizes”. Click on that.

Then, from the next page, click on medium or small. (mine are medium)

From there, you highlight and copy the code text in the box under “1”.

Now you drop that into the box where you are composing your new blog post.

When you hit save, it will automatically add your picture. Clicking on the picture will take the clicker to your photo on your Flickr page.

Michelle, here’s the lowdown on margins:

Go to your Control Panel.

Click on “Weblogs”

Click on the name of the blog you want to change.

Click on “Design”

Click on “Change Theme”

Click on “Edit this Element” under “General Page Settings”

Now you can increase and decrease the pixel size for each column.

Thanks for the tips Stefani, I think I’ll start using my images from flickr now!
