I caught some flack last year about how my kids never appear in photos fully clothed.
It's true though… my wild things pull off their shirts and shoes the first chance they get. And so yesterday when I found them all shirtless in the yard I knew that we'd crossed that last line. I thought it was officially spring when the bluebonnets and popsicles appeared, but no, it's not REALLY officially spring until the Blue Yonder boys are half nekkid.
Oh, and when the chickens are all laying again… and they are, accept poor Sadie. My little chicken farmer has been lamenting the fact that "Sadie's eggs are missing." Almost daily, we get 4 eggs – one pale brown (almost pink) two greenish blue, and one white. We miss the dark chocolate milk-colored eggs that Sadie used to share with us. Now that they're all laying again, we're feeling her absence all over.
I made him this silly little painting to remember all the eggs she shared with us, and also to make him laugh when he's sad.
It works pretty good, he giggles, HARD every time he thinks of Sadie on the beach.

And now, I'm very excited to tell you about Fat Matter Letterpress and Design. I love Fat Matter for the pure, lovely design of their stationary. I love them for the way they are embracing and reviving a traditional art. I love them for their passion, and I love them too because behind the company is a family who felt the squeeze of this economic crunch and saw it as a opportunity to turn to meaningful work, and to pursue their dreams.
I have personally held Fat Matter stationary in my hands and really I can't bring myself to write on it. I want to just hang my cards up on my wall and stare a them.
Lucky you, you're going to have the chance to win some of your own! One lucky winner will receive their Royal Sampler PLUS their choice of one other set of cards. All you have to do is visit Fat Matter and then come on back and leave a comment telling me which of those sweet cards you'd like to find in your mailbox!
I will draw a winner on Sunday night!

One last thing – I have the distinct honor today of joining Amy for her "It's Friday I'm in Love" series where she invites people to come and share about what inspires them. Amy is So. Much. Fun. It was such a treat to be asked to hang at her place a while. Run over and check it out!

The cranes dance card. Love the color and the image. Thanks!
On a tough day like today (think bottle of dishwasher detergent spilled on boy’s bedroom carpet and the subsequent hours of sudsy cleanup) I pull up the Fat Matter Etsy shop and take a good, long look at the painted buttercups. A wallow in the blues and yellows that radiate from the screen soothes my frumpled soul.
The buttercups are fantastic. As is everything but if I had to choose one it would be the buttercups.
All so very gorgeous and rich in design .. love them.
The buttercups are to die for.
xx
I love all the cards, but especially the crane cards
as soon as i saw those cranes i knew those were the ones. they remind me of my grandparents, who have prints of birds throughout their home. if i won them, i think i’d have to send the set their way. maybe.
Hmm hard to choose, but since I am a big tea lover – the tea kettle card is my favorite.
Cheers
The buttercups. My favorite “weed”. If only the weeds in our yard were so pretty.
I love this time of year for so many reasons, but at the top of my list are my naked babies. My one year old son loves running around the outside in all his naked glory.
We came across The Root Children in a thrift shop today. I picked it up, remembering your recommend from Jan Book of Days. Loved it. My daughter played under a blanket for half an hour, pretending to be a root child underground.
It would have to be the Iris and Bee cards! I love Irises; I even had them in my bouquet when I was married!
Gorgeous cards! Buttercups is my favorite. I’m also a firm believer that there’s nothing better than getting a card in the mail, unless it’s a card for no other reason than to say hello!
just found your blog via Amy. love it love it love it so much!!!!
I think the buttercups are especially lovely. The unembellished, unpainted ones because I just love letterpress.
Thanks for the link to Fat Press – I like their philosophy. My eyes went straight to the Teapot Gathering due no doubt to my total ADDICTION to tea! Hmmm might be time for a cup now …
Oh and my kids are nude all year round!
LOVE the buttercups! Thank you for this wonderful giveaway.
The cranes, the dance is beautiful and reminds me of being home in wisconsin witnessing the sandhills in the spring.
How beautiful.. I love the cranes, they are just stunning. And the buttercups. Thank you for the link; I’ll keep that one in mind!
Oh the iris and the bee was my favorite. Although the cranes dancing almost topped it!
I love the teapots. They make the perfect rainy afternoon note writing.
The teapot cards are my favorite. My mother is an avid hot tea drinker and she’d welcome receiving one of those with a note from her daughter!
I love the buttercups. Just beautiful!
.
But I don’t think I would send them. I would keep them to myself
I love the simple beauty of the handcolored buttercups. So pretty!
I added a link to your blog on mine. Hope you don’t mind. You inspire me and I wanted to share!
BUTTERCUPS – no doubt about it!!!
thanks for the chance to win!
The teapots
They’re all so cute though!!!
The teacups are just adorable!
Definitely the teapots! My mom loves teapots (bought her one for Christmas) and I’d mostly be writing to her. It would make her day.
