I caught some flack last year about how my kids never appear in photos fully clothed.
It's true though… my wild things pull off their shirts and shoes the first chance they get. And so yesterday when I found them all shirtless in the yard I knew that we'd crossed that last line. I thought it was officially spring when the bluebonnets and popsicles appeared, but no, it's not REALLY officially spring until the Blue Yonder boys are half nekkid.
Oh, and when the chickens are all laying again… and they are, accept poor Sadie. My little chicken farmer has been lamenting the fact that "Sadie's eggs are missing." Almost daily, we get 4 eggs – one pale brown (almost pink) two greenish blue, and one white. We miss the dark chocolate milk-colored eggs that Sadie used to share with us. Now that they're all laying again, we're feeling her absence all over.
I made him this silly little painting to remember all the eggs she shared with us, and also to make him laugh when he's sad.
It works pretty good, he giggles, HARD every time he thinks of Sadie on the beach.

And now, I'm very excited to tell you about Fat Matter Letterpress and Design. I love Fat Matter for the pure, lovely design of their stationary. I love them for the way they are embracing and reviving a traditional art. I love them for their passion, and I love them too because behind the company is a family who felt the squeeze of this economic crunch and saw it as a opportunity to turn to meaningful work, and to pursue their dreams.
I have personally held Fat Matter stationary in my hands and really I can't bring myself to write on it. I want to just hang my cards up on my wall and stare a them.
Lucky you, you're going to have the chance to win some of your own! One lucky winner will receive their Royal Sampler PLUS their choice of one other set of cards. All you have to do is visit Fat Matter and then come on back and leave a comment telling me which of those sweet cards you'd like to find in your mailbox!
I will draw a winner on Sunday night!

One last thing – I have the distinct honor today of joining Amy for her "It's Friday I'm in Love" series where she invites people to come and share about what inspires them. Amy is So. Much. Fun. It was such a treat to be asked to hang at her place a while. Run over and check it out!

Those teapot cards are fabulous! I would probably just hang them up as well.
i love them all, but the cranes are my fav. now i’m off to amy’s blog!!
Definitely the crane card!
If your blue yonder boys are photographed in a state of half dress, my red headed eldest is photographed in a state of looking like we never brush her hair. (Silly cowlicks, anyway.)
Oh the cranes! Quite beautiful. Thank you.
I love the donkey, such a character! The buttercups are nice too!
OH, iris and bee, without a doubt… they’re beautiful!
the buttercups! the buttercups! what fine work!
I definitely love the iris and bee uncolored cards (I would love to color them myself).
I can’t choose – so the Royal Sampler is my Fat Matter card of choice.
Totally jealous that yours can run around shirtless – it’s in the upper 40′s today.
That stationery is really great – I would love to own the crane dance cards
I love the teapots. I think one (at least) would end up in a frame! Their stuff is all fantastic, as is your chicken drawing. Very sweet!
The dormant potter in me loves the teapot card. It would definitely go in my kitchen.
It’s a very tough choice, but the handcolored iris and bee cards remind me that soon my irises will be in bloom.
Oh I was drawn to the cranes
They are striking.
I’d use them for “thank you” notes- I’m big on that!
Oh my! How I love stationary. There is just something about it that makes me yearn for a pen pal. I like the buttercups but I really enjoy how the cranes seem to come alive on the card as they dance.
Also, I bought some bandanas to make a couple pairs of shorts for my little man this summer and I noticed on your new pdf of the pattern you have “banana” on the first page, I think when you mention to fold them. Not a big deal but I didn’t know if you wanted to change it. Thanks for the directions, I am quite excited to see how they turn out.
I love the teapot greeting cards. Lovely.
My favorite is the navy blue buttercups. I love good, old fashioned, honest-to-goodness, stationary. Yum!
Bwahahahaha!!!! What? You don’t fold you’re bananas?
That’s funny. I’ll have to fix that
I love the Buttercups card.
The Tea Cups caught my eye. Something relaxing with a friend sipping tea. ahhhh!
oh those dancing cranes!!
It was a tie between the Dancing Cranes and the Teapots.
Well, I loved them all, but it would have to be teapots. I have a thing for teapots!
I loved the buttercup cards. I remember laughing with the other children in our neighbourhood as we pressed bright yellow flowers onto our chins to see if we “liked butter”.
Love the dancing cranes!
Well, I’ve been reading your blog for a bit now and you always make me giggle or sigh or both- so thats good huh! Popped over to the link and totally lovin the cards, aren’t they fabulous!! and despite humming ang hawing, think i’d love to frame the cranes dancing one….so perfect.

Oooo, I’d take the Iris Greeting cards! I love irises anyway, and these are beautiful! Like you, I’d put at least one on my bulletin board to view as inspiration.
I love the teapots!!
Happy Friday!
Iris and Bee greeting card is my favorite. Love your blog, btw.
The teapots, they remind me of the short visit my parents made and we had lots of tea
I’m really torn! I love the cranes, but I think teapots are gonna edge to the top for my favorite.
Gotta be the buttercups! Beautiful.
these are so lovely. They would inspire me to break out my fountain pen & eschew Facebook, IM & the cell phone in favor of some “real” letters to treasured friends.
Wonderful cards… those tea pots have it for me!
