It is cold and rainy here. In like a lion and all…
No matter, I’m not above making my own version of spring when necessary.
I’m surrounding myself with flowers. There are vintage-y thrifted flowers on my bed and some special ones at my side. That’s husband’s baby quilt covering the night stand and my great grandmother’s pink floral china holding my rings.
There are new curtains made from old sheets on the windows… A little floral cocoon in which to do our spring dreaming.
… And because we could hardly wait to see them up… They are hanging there with little yellow pins where a hem ought to be.
If the cold and wet stick around, that hem will get sewn, but if we spy sun behind those curtains all bets are off. As lovely as it is to wrap yourself in vintage flowers, it doesn’t hold a candle to running through the real thing.

the vintage flowers are lovely. And that dressform? Oh my goodness. I’m swooning.
the curtains are lovely! I have done the same thing, with pins, etc. I put an unfinished quilt top on my table one night for a tablecloth (it was meant to be a tablecloth I just hadn’t finished it!)
That last shot is fabulous. I love it – the blues, the reds, the balance…so many kids of wonderful.
Flowers everywhere! I like those pink ones on your bed.

Lovely, lovely pictures from your home! I have curtains without hems too, it can be good if you decide to use the fabric for something else…
Love your vintage florals, all of them.
And totally digging that purse. Way spring-y.

Um… THERE IS HALF A CHILD STANDING ON A CHAIR IN YOUR HOUSE! What a darling little pic. My own little boy, just eight months, just discovered that drapes make a wonderful toy that entertains for 20 minutes at a time. He played peek-a-boo with the outdoors for ever this afternoon. Peek-a-boo with the snow, I mean. Boo.
Texas weather?? Just when you get a few days in the 80′s…wham 30′s.
i planted tomatoes and herbs last week, but i’m afraid i jumped the gun…fingers crossed!
