I was supposed to meet my new little nephew for the first time on Monday.
He and his folks and his brother and sister are in town for two days only.
We have SO been looking forward to spending time with them.
I fully intended to soak in every little bit of our new guy, as well as my one and only niece (8 nephews, 1 niece) and to delight fully in watching my guys play with their "far away cousins", but instead, I've been in bed for two days.
Sinus junk, fever, rattling chest, bone wracking cough, headache, dizziness, and so, so tired. Sounds fun right?
And all I can think about are the little chubby legs that I'm missing, the family photo that didn't get taken, and where is the NyQuil? WHERE is the bloody NyQuil?
Being sick just sucks.
Being sick in the summer sucks.
Being sick in the summer, when there is a wee baby to hold and snuggle, well that just sucks the most of all.
Blech.
And now I'm going to curl up into a little ball and swear. A lot.
I'll return when I have something nice to say.

Guess we stopped the prayers a little too soon, huh?
Hope you get over this quickly.
Feel better soon!
Aww! Feel better soon.
oh that is sad…
Speedy recovery, for us all. We are suffering summer colds too… how soon I forget to be grateful we were not sick all winter. Now we are sick and sad. grumble, grumble, grumble
hope you’ll feel better soon!
Oh no! That is absolutely terrible!
My new godson/nephew/best friend’s baby was born on Sunday, and I know you are sick, but there are squishy baby pictures over on my blog, if you want to see him, plus an account of his birth, which just blows my mind.
Feel better, hon. xo
Summer sickies are just wrong!
Prayers for healing and patience and understanding in your little ones.
Your blog blesses me. Wish you lived in Los Angeles!
Feel better soon.
Yuk! I will pray for a quick recovery and that it does not spread. Your wonderful writings and connections are such a blessing to me and my homeschooler. We need our dear Stefani to be well. Maybe Ryder will share his beloved “Peep Show”.
Oh, pumpkin, that’s rotten. Swear long and loud. I’d be over with the NyQuil and the chicken soup if you weren’t so far away.
goodness – i hope you feel better soon stef!
you are giving me hope though…i have 6 (soon to be 7) nephews and no nieces. maybe if we get the count up to 9….
Ugh, not fair! I hope you feel better soon.
Hope you feel better soon. My sister is expecting at the end of the year and I’m so looking forward to holding that little babe, so can imagine how you feel missing out
Rest well, and yes – swear lots, if it makes you think you’ll feel better. (Makes me feel better sometimes!)
We are lop-sided with the nephews too – it’s 4 to 2. But I think the girls are going to be good at keeping those boys in check!
I hope you get to see the little ones again very soon – before those chubby legs are up and running about to quickly to snuggle and squeeze.
Get better soon.
xx E
Get well soon!
feel better soon. nyquil is awesome. so is swearing.
(both in moderation, of course)
Ah, take care of yourself! Being sick in the summer is not fair at all!
Oh friend…I hope you are feeling better soon. Being sick stinks…especially for the mama.
Being sick in the summer is certainly rotten. I hope you feel better soon!
Sucks indeed. Get better soon.
I’ll send some virtual Matzah Ball soup to you but you might not want to eat it since I’ve got strep throat over here.
Why do I never remember that it is possible to get sick in the summer? argghhhh
Get well soon.
Aww… I’m so sorry! The same thing happened to me several times last fall/winter… I would get sick right as we were supposed to be doing something fun – girl scout trip, neice’s baptism… I was really mad and cried a lot about the things I had to miss! I hope you feel better SOON SOON SOON!
I’m sorry you’re sick. That last line is the greatest ever, though. Here’s to Nyquil and potty mouth and a quick recovery.
Sorry to hear you’re sick, I’m having the same issue. Hope you get better soon and get to have a baby fix!!
Oh you must still be feeling terrible. I’m so missing your posts, it’s become a bit of a morning ritual for me to start my day with a little chuckle or warmed heart over at blue yonder. Wishing you fullest health & happiness.
I stumbled on your blog a while back and have so enjoyed reading it. I hope you are feeling better as I have missed your fun posts and beautiful boys. We are working our way through the pies as we speak. Get well wishes…
