They weren’t tired, not one little bit.
So I don’t know how it was that they all three fell asleep in the car on the way home from our Halloween celebration at Nana’s house.
At this moment I hear snoring, crickets, and an owl outside my window, and maybe a little bit of laughter, still ringing in my ears.
Somtimes I get sort of dizzy from the speed with which they slip through my fingers, these golden days.
What can you do though, but just sit back and enjoy the (hay) ride?
Then, blow out the candle and bid another Halloween goodbye.
On the way home, belly and bucket full of candy, my Luke said, “I wonder what I’ll be next year.”
Don’t we all, buddy, don’t we all.
Hope your night was happy too!

I’m thinkin’ Ruler of the Universe might be fun.
Or maybe Happy and Well-Adjusted.
I’ll settle, of course, for Surviving.
it goes so fast, doesn’t it?
fun times!
great observations!
Ain’t that the truth. What will we be next year? or where? Avery has already informed me she will have some oozing blood. Dark child, she is.
Looks like you had fun…and now for the candy eating marathon.
Yesterday was quite the whirlwind. Sooo glad it’s over and ready to move on to Thanksgiving and Christmas!
On the way home, all my 23 month old daughter could say when asked if she enjoyed Halloween was “more, more” This was our first real Halloween with her and wow, how quickly it came and went!
Gorgeous, so beautifully written.
