They Made Me Do It

by Stefani on 20-July-2007

Even while my computer was sleeping, the blog influence could be seen and heard around these parts.

I had seen marble magnets pop up in various places around FLICKR, and remembered following a link trail to Not Martha for the how-to.

So I had to. I just did. It couldn’t be helped.

Magnets

The boys had so much fun sifting through magazines, sliding the marbles over pictures, like decoders, to hunt down some little bit of something in the background that might make a good magnet. They loved watching the drop of glue spread out under the marble, and the picture magically sharpen and magnify. So. So. Fun.

A word to the wise… magnets only stick to the fridge on one side. Remember that, vaguely, from science class? Well I didn’t, and we had to redo several because we’d stuck the marble to the side that was supposed to stick to the fridge.

I was also thinking about the Soule family, when I poured our left over smoothies into ice cube trays.

Smoothiecicles

Later that afternoon, when the boy energy was at a fever pitch, I handed them a meat cleaver. They thought I’d lost a few of the aforementioned marbles for sure.

A snack and a moment of wild abandon all at once. Good stuff.

So see, you can take the girl out of Blogland, but you can’t take Blogland out of the girl.

awesome magnets. I see a craft project in our future once those kids of mine finally come home. Sigh.

Welcome back – missed you! I love those marble magnets, like little gems. And the frozen smoothies look pretty tasty and mushy. We’re having warm cocoa here!

I remember marble magnets…we havent done them in quite some time. But they are very deserving of a revisit for sure. And YUMMO to those smoothie pops!
