Small Wonder :: Lazy Lemonade

Lazy Lemonade

The screen door slams.

Dirty bare feet run across the kitchen.
One needs a boost to reach the bowl of lemons.
Cut.
Dip in sugar.
Dirty bare feet run out.
Screen door slams again.

Suck.
Pucker.
Scrinch.
Giggle.

Play a while, then repeat.

Pucker Up

Oh my goodness. How cute! Great picture. I’ll have to let me kids on in the easy lemonade recipe – they’ll love it.

My children love lemons. And I am not sure why. But this would make them even happier! I love the little crystals of sugar all over the place!

i love that last picture! have you read the book Puddles, by Jonathan London? Your prose in this post reminds of that book!

Jennifer May 8, 2009 at 12:28 pm

I love doing this. I will order water with lemon at restaurants just to eat these “lemon drops.”

My girls do that all the time! They use oranges too in the winter. I never thought about it being easy lemonade though. Cool.

Melanie May 8, 2009 at 7:44 pm

Oh, my goodness…I love it! My Ian has loved eating limes and lemons (without the sugar!) since he was a babe! We’re seeing hint of summer here today, so lemons it is!

Marci@OvercomingBusy May 8, 2009 at 7:56 pm

Love the picture! I’ll have to try this with my daughter. She loves lemons and I can just see her little dirty feet running through the door for sugar coated lemons.
