….. he will remember Cranberry Thanksgiving and ask you to read it.
And if you read it to him, it will remind him of all the fun he had creating his own cranberry bog and he'llwant to do it all over again.
And if you let him do it all over again it will lead to lots of questions about REAL cranberry bogs. So you will have to do some research and watch lots of videos.
And if you watch lots of videos about cranberries it will make him very hungry and he will want you to make some more muffins!

Oh, yes! We practiced having a tea party with our eyes closed – being blind, you know. And then we wrote about our experience and how it felt. And then came the question of how blind people read and write, so we had to practice writing some Braille letters. And that all led to looking up Helen Keller on Youtube and watching “The Miracle Worker,” 1963 movie…

My daughter went to see “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” at our children’s theater, and has been checking out all the Numeroff books she can get hands on at the library! The cranberry bog looks like a blast 
I love the connections that kids make in their heads…it leads to them learning so much more! Those muffins sound yummy!

Okay, this is not muffin related at all but I thought that you might like to know that after continuing our license plate hunt from the summer Book into the fall, we have officially seen plates from all fifty states. Surprisingly enough, Kansas proved to be the most elusive and after weeks and weeks of having seen the other 49 and waiting for the final one, we finally spotted a Kansas plate while driving to visit my sister in New York. We have, of course, also become huge geography nerds in the process of all this…
Oh Annie!!! You can’t possibly imagine how happy this makes me. I’m so glad that you took the time to pop in and tell us about your great states adventure. It’s just given us all grins for miles to think that our book led your family to such an adventure.
And congratulations on finding all 50! That is quite an accomplishment! We’re having a similar problem with our 50 state quarter collection. Utah has alluded us for months and months. We’re beginning to think that somewhere in Utah, some miser is hoarding all of his state’s quarters!

It’s all about living in Vermont! Apparently everyone here is actually visiting from somewhere else. I saw license plates from at least fifteen different states just on my way home from school on Friday afternoon. It’s especially crazy here in the summer months!
I did dig through every repository of spare change in my house and car without result. You are right: that Utah quarter is certainly hard to find! I’ve got a few other ones if you any though. Hawaii? West Virginia? Good luck!
That is exactly how it works when you let a boy do just about anything, isn’t it? And I think it is awesome! They learn so much this way, and they learn so much better this way!
Mmmm, we loved the post. My boys were inspired to make scrambled eggs mostly by themselves after a similar learning event, but with our friend’s chickens. Love the photo of the do-it-yourself bog.
