It was a good plan. It was a simple, doable, good plan.
Step 1: Clean, organize and paint the boys’ bedrooms while they were away at camp.
Step 2: Finish outlining our homeschooling plans for the year.
Step 3: On July 5th, walk together, hand in hand, into a new year of learning.
Right.
“Everyone has plans… until they get hit.”

Around the time the ink was drying on my freshly made plans, my husband, dear man, picked up a hammer and smashed them to pieces…
I’m blogging over at Simple Homeschool today. Click here to read the rest of the story!

Love that Mike Tyson quote!
It reminds me of a similar quote from a cops-and-robbers movie, “Way of the Gun”:
“I think a plan is just a list of things that don’t happen.”
That’s one of the only things I remember from that movie.
I hope, really hope, it was a good smash. A happy smash. Like a trip to the coast or similar.
I love home remodeling, especially when you do the work yourself. It is so rewarding to say “we did this – together.” I would love to see before and after pics, but I am guessing you might be either too private to share that much, or you were too busy to take pics “before?”
Anyway, I am glad you all have a NEW home to enjoy together!
A fabulously written “rest of the story”. Thanks for sharing all the lessons you learned.
Wonderful story. I hope you’ll show us some after pics.
Hello friend…
I thought I had commented on this post before, but I guess not. Peas in a pod again. We just went through a crazy switcheroo of rooms here too. Must chat soon…soon.
Especially since one of my best friends is interviewing with a church near you.
Where are you? I miss reading your blog and hope all is okay with you and your family.
Thank you so much, Mary. We’re well… we just needed to some time to regroup and find our way again. I hope to be back more often now that we’re finding our groove again
Come out, come out whereever you are!
Really missing you and your posts. Hope all is well!
Do you know that I miss you? Do you? Come back. SOON! PLEASE?!?!?!
Miss you.
Oh, friend. I can’t tell you how very very mutual the feeling is!
My favorite blogger is silent. We miss you!!!
I’d sure love to see you and catch up! Let’s make a plan… maybe we could meet up for some coffee at the bookstore one night? Shoot me an email when you can!
I am missing your voice too…hoping all is well with YOU, your boys and your dog and your house stuff…
