They were Valentines that the boys made last year for Grandmother, Nana and Granny.
Please note that there is no "Mama" on that list of bread quilt recipients.
I did have this one bread quilt that my Luke made. It was his very first, and it was very precious to me, but it's long since been commandeered as a teddy bear quilt.
Poor poor mama, who so very much loves to bake bread. Artisan bread… daily bread… banana bread… pumpkin bread… she loves it all and yet she has no bread quilt.
Poor poor mama.
That's the song I've been singing 'round here lately, and I'm happy to report that it's paid off. I've finally guilted them into making me one too.
No, not really. They're actually excited to make another one. They love a good sewing machine. It's just that their goofy mama hasn't cut up the squares yet, so they haven't had a chance to set that machine a-pumpin'.
I'm cutting away though, and we're going to see if we can get it done tomorrow.
We're also going to draw up a little tutorial for you while we're at it – by way of an early Valentine's Day gift.
So come on back tomorrow to see if we managed to do something about poor poor Mama's shivering bread.
While you're waiting, you might want to go and check out the little addendum that we made to our Daily Bread recipe. Mmm mmm mmm!
Preheat those ovens and sewing machines ladies!
