Well, we decided that it had been far too long since our toes had been sandy, so we headed south, to Galveston.
And OH! It was just what my little broken hearted chicken papas needed.
Sun, surf, sea glass and shell collecting, sand in everything we own, lots of shrimp, lazy mornings, chocolate milk, chasing sea gulls, flying kites, staying up way too late. It’s been glorious.

Just perfect! That’ll be us in two weeks. Of course the beach we’re going to may be calling for sweatshirts and jeans, but that won’t stop us. Have a fabulous time!
Is this a bad time to mention that I have been waiting ever-so-impatiently for another installment?
Galveston, eh?
Take pictures of all your findings!
how wonderful. there is always something about the sea. and the good kind of tired you get from all that sun and salt and air. soak it in!!!!
Love your remedy.
Can I come next time you go.. This beach looks like a blast
hooray for the beach!!!
Oh, my southern heart is jumping! My uncle lived in Galveston for years. I wish to live on an island off the coast of Savannah, Georgia. Til then, the Chesapeake Bay is stunning.
I hit the beach this past weekend….but it was way too cold to go in the water (it is New York, ya know). We had to compromise by eating dessert while listening to the waves crash. Soon, very soon, we will be able to dip into the water.
I’m sorry you had to part with Rosemary, but it looks like you’re having a fantastic vacation! Have fun!
i just want to say that last night i stayed up until the wee hours of the morning reading every post in your blog, some of it made me laugh and some made tears spring to my eyes. your an amazing woman and a great mum. Enjoy your trip, and i look forward to your next installment.
Oh how I’d love to be by the beach flying a kite right now
Hope the grief is easing up a bit. But it looks like the sun, surf and sand are helping. Love your blog!
