(and, no, I still cannot hula hoop, after all these years. I thought maybe I'd grown out of my awkward phase, but no. No I have not. All three of my spawn can hula just fine though. Clearly they did not inherit my utter lack of rhythm. Must be a recessive gene

That looks like a lot of fun. I say that you are doing the only sane thing you can under the circumstances.
(And I totally cannot master the hula hoop either, it’s just not happening. I think I may understand now why my dance teacher always put me in the back row for performances.)
O.K. girls, you just need a bigger hula hoop… um… not because of your hip size either… which, might I add is lovely. It’s easier to hula hoop the big ones. I know because I couldn’t do it either until I tried the monster mac daddy size. This I love about our country… we have unlimited size range for all the different ability levels. On a DIY note… my good friend made hula hoops for party favors at her six year old’s birthday this winter (tubes and tape.) It was a hit! If you ever need a winter birthday party option (or blazing hot one like Stefani) … the kids loved it!

Not a stupid question at all! We use these: http://www.dickblick.com/products/staedtler-karat-aquarell-crayons/
They work great and wash off with water. So many of those face and body paints require baby oil and such to get them off. This is so much easier! Be warned though… they easily rub off sweaty little bodies and all over your carpet and clothes if you’re not careful. We use them mostly just for the face, and since my guys are almost always shirtless, it’s not usually a problem.

I think you’re right. I hear that grown ups simply MUST have larger hoops. And considered the way my backside has spread, it’d better be a pretty big one.
