As an experiment, of sorts, we filled up muffin tins with water, stood some sidewalk chalk in each hole, and froze the whole thing.
The result?
Well, at first, not much of anything. But, as the ice melted…
Brilliant color,
Cool toes and fingers,
And a good bit of fun!
We were so inspired, that we decided to freeze some fishies.
Will they be for driveway hockey? The tub? I’ll let you know when they tell me. For now, it is a highly guarded secret
And speaking of secrets (no spoilers here):
Harry.
I am finished, and I will never tell!

Love the chalk idea! We love to spray down the sidewalk then chalk for a similar effect, but the spraying gets out of hands at times. Currently, we are making chalk out of egg shells. I’ll keep you posted.
what a great idea Supermom! your family is so cool!
PS> lol, my email just dinged that i got a comment from you. we’re doing it at the same time…lol
i think that’s a great idea – what a fun experiment.
(and, i know – harry – wow!)
that chalk thing is brilliant!
Oh, that looks so fun! Great idea with the chalk. We have put ice in the wading pool and timed different size pieces to see how long it took each one to melt, but the chalk is perfect for where we are right now!! Thanks for the great idea.
I love that idea! As soon as it’s not too hot here to be outside (like in September) then we’ll try it out.
That looks like so much fun!
Great idea!
LOL cute idea!
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh…this will happen at our house soon!!!!
we once froze dinosaurs in ice for my micah’s 5th birthday party…5 boys will metal spoons and butter knives smashing away to excavate the extinct…maybe you will have your own fish excavation.
