I know what you’re thinking.

Wasn’t she on a low carb diet?

Don’t worry, this isn’t what it looks like.

It might *look* like we made cookies. Oatmeal Cranberry Chocolate Chunk Cookies, to be exact, but I assure you, that’s not what you see before you.

Oh no.

What you’re looking at is a math lesson. Those cookies are purely educational. Pinky swear.

This is has nothing to do with melt in your mouth goodness, and EVERYTHING to do with fractions.

Even a little multiplication… 4 cookies, by 5 cookies X 2 cookies sheets = a whoppin load of math, people. MATH, I SAY!

Let’s see now, if mommy eats 1 spoonful of cookie dough now, spends half an hour swearing on the elliptical machine, and then eats 4 cookies when she comes home from the gym, how many inches will she be adding to her waistline?

See? All about the math.

Of course it’s math! We use baking for math all the time.

That last part? Definitely New Math. That makes my brain hurt.

I did that same math today!

One stressed out mommy plus one bag of butterscotch chips plus 3 members of the family needing snacks for a big bike ride equals one hour of my day spent baking. Ah, but they tasted good.

I love math during the holidays. Afterall, it all adds up. 🙂 Gonna share the recipe?

At least you have a valid excuse! My cookie making excuse was because I bought new Christmas cutter shapes, and we NEEDED to try them out.

I love that butterfly mug – cute handle. And your 3 (see I can count, your lessons are working) little blue measure cups.

I love your reasoning!

That is funny!

Great logic Stef! I’ve been promising to make cookies with Makena but know I’ll end up eating way too many. I think I’ll take the math perspective, make cookies and pack them up to take the grandma and grandpa’s house! 😉

I’m all over the meme for today. I had to get my dad to send me an old picture of myself since we somehow got rid of our scanner in the move. Thanks for picking me!

I love that kind of math. Unfortunately, tomorrow will contain a lot of math, too.

Happy Thanksgiving, Stefani.

Okay, my young ‘un is 29 and has no need for math from me, old or new. Do you loan your children out? I need excuses, I mean, reasons, to practice my math. 8^)

Mmmmmm cookie dough! YumYumYum!!

we do this kind of math all the time around here, too…

your “thanksgiving” pictures above are beautiful, by the way. simply beautiful.

hope you had a lovely day. i spent mine in bed with the stomach flu, but that’s okay..at least we’re all healthy (or almost healthy) now….
