The day has come friends! We are so excited… truly, the whole family is tickled pink, to share something new with you. (Keep on reading, because in the end, there's a prize to be had!)
We wanted it to be something that was truly US – all about nature and cooking up some kitchen fun, artistic endeavors and “fantastical” imaginings.
And so, The Blue Yonder Book of Days was born.
Essentially, it is a monthly journal of mindful experiences, natural pursuits, yummy recipes, science experiments and time spent soaking in life’s goodness. It’s meant for any family that wants to spend time together, not just homeschoolers. Each edition comes with at least 12 illustrated pages to download, print and put in your own binder (you can make one for each child, or just make one big family book)
The issues also come with a detailed Parent Field Guide that provides seasonal reading lists, ways to expand each month's activities, and ideas for slowing down and holding on to the magic of each day of the year.
Your Book of Days journey can be as simple as a few minutes here and there each week, or (with the extra reading and projects suggested in the Field Guide) as detailed as a week's worth of exploring, projects and learning. Every single page has been kid tested
The idea is that with the addition of each monthly issue + your family's writings, artwork, and photos, The Book of Days will become a memory book of all that was 2009, a celebration of your family's time together.
I’m going to be offering a new edition each month, for sale in our etsy shop. (February will be available on January 26th!) Once you place your order, you will, within 24 hours, receive your link to the PDF file for that month. Then, you can print the pages and begin your family's own Book of Days!
But wait, there’s more! (I always wanted a reason to say that!)
Each month, when we announce the arrival of the new issue, there will be a contest. All you have to do is leave a comment to be entered in the drawing, BUT if you choose to order the issue and participate in the Book of Days journey, you can earn more chances to win. If you send me an email with a story or photo of your family’s experience with a Book of Days activity, you get another chance – that’s one extra chance for each activity!
All the Blue Yonder Gang is excited to see how other families are using the book, so we thought we’d entice you with some truly fantastic toys…
Every new month, a gorgeous handmade wooden toy from our amazing new sponsor, The Mama Kopp Shop, and an accompanying book will be up for grabs. Her work is natural, soulful and full of love and inspiration – exactly what we are hoping for in the Book of Days!
This month, you have a chance to win your own Tomten, and a copy of his story.
So leave a comment here for a chance to win, then go and check out the Book of Days and the MamaKoppShop! We hope that you will be as excited as we are to fill up the year with family memories!

How FANTASTIC is this?! Thank you for sharing your family’s love of life and for spreading that joy to others. I’ve just ordered my edition – I’ll be filing these away for the future once my baby (due in May) comes into his own appreciation of the wonders of the world!
YEAH! We are so excited about the Book of Days! My 5 year old homeschooler can hardly wait to get his hands on it. It is as if the Blue Yonder Boys are celebrities or something. He said,” I get one of the Boy’s books, Mom?!” …. yes, I said and all he could say was “Wooooowwww”. You have to laugh.
Congrats on such a success. Kudos!
