Good morning folks!
It is with great pleasure (relief, satisfaction, eagerness) that I tell you that the April Book of Days is now ready for you! Head on over to the Ranch to check it out. Just click on "preview" to see a little peek – the table of contents and an excerpt.
I have to tell you, I got a little carried away this month. All the fun and newness of spring is HARD to contain in just a few pages, but we gave it our best shot!
As with every month's issue, there is a giveaway from the endlessly fabulous and talented Mama Kopp of Mama Kopp Shop.
This month's prize is so sweet! Mama Kopp has whipped up this amazing little butterfly lifecycle set for one very lucky child.

(Sorry friends, the April contest is now closed. Congratulations to the winner, Anna, who said,
"I just found out that I'll be teaching kindergarten science and nature next year. How perfect would this be?"
And thank you to Mama Kopp! Keep an eye on our Ranch Blog for more Mama Kopp giveaways!
**************
Now get on over to the Ranch and take a gander at the new book! We hope that it will bring your family a month full of fun and discovery!

YAY! IT’S HERE!!! I just printed it out, and we are off to the bookstore so we will be able to dive in this weekend. It is raining here, and is forecasted to rain and storm all weekend, so we will be inside doing BOD projects!
I am curious. This is the first time I have checked out your BOD page. My 3 year old is always up for a “project”. My 3 mon. old would love to get his mouth, um… hands on that butterfly. Thanks for your blog. I enjoy it so much:)
I am itching to go check out the new edition. I am still trying to decide if this book and activities would work for my 4 year old. Thanks for creating something so creative and beautiful for children to do!
OK that is a seriously amazing giveaway. Count me in please!
I’ve been checking back
.
That is a great giveaway and we have a caterpillar (and some labybug larvae) in our house right now from the backyard.
Lovely butterfly, and Book of Days! I love the stuff Mama Kopp does!
Beautiful butterfly!
Oh my stars! THat is beyond lovley. I am going to have to post a bunch of pictures and give a minute by minute account to get more entries!
YEAH! It’s here! We are very excited here. And that last drawing of the training wheels coming off; or have been taken off, is so sweet! I love that!
Oh, I love the butterfly set. It would be the perfect addition to our new nature table.
I haven’t felt brave enough to undertake the Book of Days with my wee ones. Now that spring is here I am feeling inspired, though. Perhaps soon I will work up the nerve to tackle a project like this.
Well I must say I’m impressed that you find the time to do all this with those boys keeping you busy.
And thanks for another giveaway. This is just gorgeous!
WE are loving our books of days and can’t wait to get April started. Mama Kopp is my favorite ETSY artist, what a WONDERFUL treat for your readers. What a perfect addition this butterfly would be to the spring nature table!!
Impressionist blossoms – intriguing!
Just beautiful. Her work is so elegantly simple. I plan to find an easter basket treat at her shop! And of course, I can’t wait to see the new Book of Days. My little one is only 15 months old, so I can’t do any of the projects with her, but I save them in a folder on my computer, read them, and imagine all the fun we will have.
Wow. Your blog inspires me soo much. I love all the fresh ideas.
Loved March’s edition & can’t wait to start April’s!!
And mama kopp’s goodies ~ such an incredible gift!
Thank you!!
I just ordered the first 3 months of BOD, and am very excited to look through them. I don’t have kids yet, but it’s never too soon to plan ahead!
what a great addition this would be to our home school. we are talking about life cycles right now!
Can’t wait to download the April book…and my four year old budding naturalist would love the Momma Kopp giftie!
Hi Stefani–
Your BOD is a wonderful idea. Would you please tell us what age children it’s best geared for (I’m assuming about 4-7. Mine are going to be 9 this summer, so I’m wondering if they’re too old.
Thanks,
So excited about all the butterfly items in April’s Book. Printing it right now!
Hi there!
The book is geared toward kids from about 5-10, but really it could be of value to kids older and younger too. The basic goal of the book is to give whole families fun stuff to do together – so we try to appeal to a range of ages. Really the book is meant to be more a jumping off point. There’s lots of fun activities, but also a guide full of ways to expand upon each activity – book lists, extra ideas, just lots of stuff. So even if a family uses it with a young child this year, that same child will get something new and different from the same pages next year.
Does that help?
I love this little butterfly life cycle, how wonderful! Congrats on your next book of days!
Wow! What a talented artist! That is just beautiful and one of my very favorite life cycles…
I wouldn’t pass up a chance to win that. We own some of her other work and it is beautiful.
Thanks
The butterfly lifecycle set is amazing…what a neat idea to gift to a young child. Please count me in to win. My great nephew would adore this!

What a nice puzzle, I would love to have it for my girls.
Oh my! That is my favorite Mama Kopp piece yet. I would love to win it. Thanks!
I have a little great grand that would love it…she loves flutter-byes…meaning of coarse butterflies.
That butterfly is gorgeous
I cannot tell Lorilee enough how amazing this butterfly set is! Any one who wins it is so lucky!
My girls are only 1 1/2 and 2 3/4 so they are young yet but I am considering buying them to have for the future. Will you continue to make new ones every year or will they be the same activities each year?
Oh this is so great! Thanks for the chance. Your drawings are so sweet.
This would be terrific to share with all my kids (the ones at home and at school)! Thanks for another great giveaway.
I am so excited to try the Book of Days for the first time!
i love! love! love! that drawing of the girl riding her bike with the training wheels lying there. she already looks so confident and natural : )
Hi,
we are loving your Book of days in Europe, too. My three girls are hooked on experiments so this is their favourite part of yor book.
Have a lovely spring!
That’s a gorgeous butterfly set!!! Thanks for the chance to win
I just found out that I’ll be teaching kindergarten science and nature next year. How perfect would this be?
Wonderful! You are so creative.
What a wonderful website! I love the Book idea – fantastic! And the giveaway? Amazing! Thank you for being one of those creative, gifted, souls…
Congratulations on yet another beautiful edition of the book!
I love your drawings. You have such talent and capture kids just right! Thanks for sharing your artwork with us.
It is wonderful to see each edition “grow” in so many ways. I love the butterfly stages cut-out. I am hopeful that our family will join in with The Books of Days when school is out, because we will have a bit more time to devote to enjoying each and every activity (and each other).
I love that puzzle! Glad I found your blog!
