An Honest Mistake

by Stefani on 21-January-2008

Mistakes happen, you know?

That’s why you keep your pink pearl eraser handy, while you’re creating one of your many (many, MANY) books. This one is called, “The Kowboy.” (love that!)

His Book

Any boy, scout or no, knows that when he sits down to the sewing machine, he’d best be prepared, and have that seem ripper close at hand.

"It's Kinda Boring"

It’s true, pencil lines sometimes go awry. Seams are sometimes stitched askew. And sometimes, mamas, silly silly mamas, turn their backs on a boy and a puddle. Sometimes it sets off a chain reaction, and his brothers join in. Not two full minutes after everyone is FINALLY dressed and ready to leave, they are wet, and grinning at the glory of splashing water.

Puddle Jumper

Take a deep breath.

Close your eyes.

Know that these things happen.

Might as well just take a picture, laugh along with them, and head in for yet another pair (make it three pairs) of dry pants.

(p.s. Just a little reminder that you can also find bits of our days over at Six One Way, and now, you can play along with our new Six One Way Flickr Group!)

oh my! That looks like fun.

I think I recognize that fabric. Can’t wait to see what he makes with it.

Silly, silly mama! I wish I had the audacity to jump in puddles more often.

Boys! Yes, last spring when my 13 year old son took his 2 year old sister out to play, he took her with a dress and no pants because as he said. Her pants would just get wet and muddy from puddle jumping! At least he was thinking ahead!

We’ve got lots of puddle jumping in our neck of the woods too. Good idea to just laugh and enjoy it. Maybe invest in some rain boots!?!

What a great illustration. Young writers are amazing!

Yes, definitely have boots handy the next time, because puddles are irresistible. At least the water looked nice and clear and not at all muddy.
